ATTENDANCE:           

Mossfiel Primary School hours are 8:45 am – 3:05 pm (Eat Snack 10:50am : Recess 10:55 – 11:15 : Eat lunch at 12:55 pm : Lunch play 1:05- 1:45 pm)
To do their best learning, students need to arrive at school every day between 8:30 – 8:45 am. The line-up bell for the start of the day rings at 8:45 am, with children needing to be in their classrooms at 8:50 am, ready to start their learning.

If your child is unwell it is recommended that they stay at home. Parents are required by law to provide the school with an Absence Note or Ring the school explaining each absence .Unless unwell, parents are required by law to ensure that their children come to school each school day.

In recognition of those students who have achieved excellent attendance (95-100%) awards are presented at the end of Terms 2 and 4.

The information below highlights the impact absence can have upon a child’s learning.

0 - 6     This is within normal range. A child with this attendance rate is able to take full advantage of the teaching and learning opportunities available to them.

7 - 10   This attendance rate is below average. A child with this attendance rate could miss over one year of learning between prep and year 10

11 - 20 This is a poor attendance rate. A child with this attendance rate could miss out on up to two years of learning between prep and year 10.

20+      This is a very poor attendance rate. A child with this attendance rate could miss over two and one half years of learning between Prep and year 10.
